SparkFun has great tutorials on UART, SPI and I2C. This requires only two wires, SDA (Serial Data) and SCL (Serial Clock) and of course it’s synchronous. Using I2C, multiple peripherals can communicate with one or more controllers. I2C (read as “I squared C” or “I two C”) is a two wire communication protocol, and thus some manufactures call it Two Wire Interface (TWI) except some minor difference. Data is still send serially but multiple devices can communicate with a controller using Chip Select (CS) pins, and it is synchronous, means it has a common clock signal SCK. SPI stands for Serial Peripheral Interface and employs controller-peripheral concept. So we’ll explore it in detail just after commenting on others. Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) as its name says, is an asynchronous serial communication protocol and almost all uC has it built-in. Three major communication protocols/interfaces used by microcontrollers are UART, SPI and I2C (TWI). When it comes to communicating with a microcontroller, the word “serial” just pops up into mind if you’re familiar with microcontrollers. Finally.CP2102 USB-to-UART serial converter breakout module Choose " Let me pick from a list of available driers on my Computer." Select "Cisco Serial".ħ. thenĬlick UPDATE DRIVER, then Browse my computer for driver software.Ħ. if you see above "Cisco USB to Serial Adapter". If you don't see it repeat the above steps.ĥ. Check that you see "Cisco USB to Serial Adapter". Open device manager to observe the driver installation. Reinstall the Cisco USB console drive using setup(圆4).exe from the Windows_64 folder which was extracted from file Cisco_usbconsole_driver_3_1.zip.Ĥ. First, disconnect the blue Cisco USB console cable. If you installed it already and having issues, uninstall it using the setup(圆4),exe then reboot PC.Ģ. For WIn10, install the setup(圆4).exe from the Cisco_usbconsole_driver_3_1.zip.Ĭheck that the Cisco Serial (Comx) is using the correct driver provider which should be Cisco.
